. Ghost Head Nebula Space Photo This is a Hubble Space Telescope photograph of the Ghost Head nebula (NGC 2080), which is located about 170,000 light years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy. As the name suggests, it has a pretty white, glowing appearance, with bright areas of gas that look like ghostly eyes. Areas of red and green dust and gas are towards the edge. This photo, released by NASA and the European Space Agency to commemorate the Hubble Space Telescope's completion of 100,000th orbit around the Earth in its 18th year of exploration and discovery, scientists have aimed Hubble to take a snapshot of a dazzling region of celestial birth and renewal. In the image, a small portion of the nebula star cluster NGC 2074, located 170,000 light-years away, can be observed. NGC 604 is an H II region located about 3 million light-years away within the Triangulum Galaxy in the constellation Triangulum. It is one of the largest known seething cauldrons of star birth in a nearby galaxy, containing more than 200 brilliant blue stars within a cloud of glowing gases some 1,300 light-years across. The bright stars in NGC 604 are extremely young by astronomical standards, having formed a mere 3 million years ago. Our amazing Universe offers astounding stellar phenomena dwarfing the most elaborate Fourth of July fireworks shows we can produce. This NASA image from the Hubble Space Telescope presents the Eta Carinae binary star system and associated nebula in a patriotic color scheme of red white and blue. The blue glow represents the element magnesium embedded between dusty bipolar bubbles in white and shock-heated nitrogen filaments glowing red. The narrow galaxy elegantly curving around its spherical companion in this image is a fantastic example of a truly strange and very rare phenomenon. This image, taken with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, depicts GAL-CLUS-022058s, located in the southern hemisphere constellation of Fornax (The Furnace). GAL-CLUS-022058s is the largest and one of the most complete Einstein rings ever discovered in our Universe. The Arches ClusterThe most crowded place in the Milky WayThis new NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope image presents the Arches Cluster, the densest known star cluster in the Milky Way. It is located about 25 000 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Sagittarius (The Archer), close to the heart of our galaxy, the Milky Way. It is, like its neighbour the Quintuplet Cluster, a fairly young astronomical object at between two and four million years old. "Astronomers have made the most detailed study yet of an extremely massive young galaxy cluster using three of NASA's Great Observatories. This multi-wavelength image shows this galaxy cluster, called IDCS J1426.5+3508 (IDCS 1426 for short), in X-rays recorded by the Chandra X-ray Observatory in blue, visible light observed by the Hubble Space Telescope in green, and infrared light detected by the Spitzer Space Telescope in red. This rare galaxy cluster, which is located 10 billion light

striking cosmic whirl is at the center of galaxy NGC 524, as seen in this Hubble Space Telescope image released on July 22. This galaxy is located in the constellation of Pisces, some 90 million light-years from Earth. NGC 524 is a lenticular galaxy. Such galaxies are believed to be an intermediate state in galactic evolution - they are neither elliptical nor spiral. striking cosmic whirl is at the center of galaxy NGC 524, as seen in this Hubble Space Telescope image released on July 22. This composite image shows the massive galaxy cluster MACS J0717, located about 5.4 billion light-years from Earth, where four separate galaxy clusters have been involved in a collision. Hot gas is shown in an image from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, and galaxies are shown in an optical image from the NASA / ESA Hubble Space Telescope. The coolest gas is reddish purple, the hottest gas is blue, and the temperatures in between are purple.
